We are currently students from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang pursuing in Biological Sciences, majoring in Environmental Sciences and Zoology. Nowadays, we are very aware that there are a lot of development occur near the shore in Penang. Teluk Air Tawar-Kuala Muda shore which located in Mainland, Penang is a stopover for 10,000 to 12,000 individuals of shorebirds at a single site during migratory period. However, this site is currently prone to various pollution and development that threatened the shorebirds population. In addition to this problem, people are still lack of awareness on issues pertaining the shorebirds.
Therefore, we believe that by collecting funds for
Shorebirds Peninsular Malaysia Project (SPMP), it could help the organization
in research purpose and also outreach program. These incentives are being seen
as one of effort to educate the people on shorebirds and what we can do to
protect them. In previous achievements,

We are volunteer students for Shorebirds Peninsular Malaysia Project (SPMP). SPMP is a small group organization with only less than 10 person organizing committee. Despite the lack of manpower, they are very active to educate the public on shorebirds through online platform such as their official Facebook Page named Shorebirds Peninsular Malaysia Project. Since we are joining them as the volunteers, we are really amazed on the effort they put on education and research purpose. However, we believe they will be doing greater if there can reach more funding from the crowds. We are looking forward to help them financially so they can do more research on the importance of protecting the shore and its environment.
