Who are we?
The Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan Family Reproductive Health Association (SWP FREHA) is the oldest reproductive health association in Malaysia. We have been providing services and catering to the reproductive health needs of individuals - women and men, as well as families since 1953.The COVID-19, MCO, as well as post-COVID-19 period, affect some women (especially women from B40 communities) caused by the restriction from getting reproductive health products or services.
Moreover, the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) reported that Malaysia is expected to have a baby boom in January next year, due to the MCO as the majority of couples have to stay at home.
Due to reduced disposable income prioritised to purchase food, some women are unable to get their needs met during menstruation, prevent unintended pregnancies, and even care for their reproductive health.
This fundraising initiative aims to sustain our organisation and provide reproductive health products to those in need.We believe what Anne Frank said, "No one has ever become poor by giving.”
How do we do this?
1. Requests from NGOs and Vulnerable Groups. Our volunteers, including doctors, take in requests via email ([email protected]), WhatsApp (017 - 3561049), or Facebook (@SWPFREHAOFFICIAL).
2. Dispatch of products and items. Once or twice per week (depending on the volume of requests), we will pack the items and courier the items.
3. Safe, discreet, and confidentiality assured. There will be a procedure in place to ensure that the beneficiaries receive quality and safe services that are private and confidential. The packages will be packed discreetly.
What is the target?
We aim to raise RM 10,000.00 that will be used to sustain our organisation during this difficult period of time and provide free reproductive health services for women who need them in the coming months.
