About Appeal

Secubit is a fund-raising project, by INTI International College Subang students, which aims to raise awareness and improve the life quality of the B40 community who are protected under the PPR programme. 

Secubit is in collaboration with ADYA Empowerment Association, who is a registered NGO that is working closely with The National Community Policy which was formulated by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government by aiming to address social issues faced by the community of housing premises, particularly at the low-cost housing program across the country Community Empowerment Committee under Ministry of Housing and Local Government for the PPR Programme. 

Aside from Secubit by INTI, ADYA Empowerment Association is also collaborating with other University and College students, namely from MSU and BAC, in order to push forward their initiative towards aiding those from the B40 communities.

Background:
The pandemic has been especially difficult to the B40 community. These include those with little or no assets or savings to fall back on, informal workers who are not covered by or have inadequate social safety nets, and those who have lost their jobs, been placed on unpaid leave, or experienced pay cuts because of COVID.

Recent reports from Aspirations Unfulfilled: Malaysia’s Cost of Living Challenges details the challenges that low- and middle-income Malaysian families were facing even before the COVID-19 pandemic. Households’ concerns about “the cost of living” are more complex than simply rising prices. Also in the mix are sluggish wage growth among younger workers and those without tertiary education, a shortage of affordable housing in urban areas, and precarious personal finances, with high indebtedness and extremely low savings. Mission:
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we are raising funds to support the B40 communities staying at PPR Lembah Subang 1 & 2. The funds & donations will be utilised for the purchases of groceries for the B40 families, helping them with their living costs and providing them with basic necessities that should be accessible to everyone.

Vision:
Utilising our privileges and utmost capabilities to enhance the living conditions of the underprivileged and encourage others who are in the same position as ours to do the same. Essentially, our priority is to reach out to the public regarding the increasing need for support and awareness towards those who are underprivileged or fall under the B40 community.
