Dear friends,
it is with deep sadness that we announce that DAISY P has passed on peacefully this morning. Her cremation will be this Saturday at 3pm. We would like to thank everyone for all your support in one way or another.
Team K9 Missions
Daisy P was brought urgently to the vet (ARVC) as her breathing her become labored and she had stopped eating. :( Daisy P, one of the meekest of our lot, has been successfully battling Bladder cancer for the last 2 years. She had been coping well till a recent second opinion revealed that the bladder had a chronic infection and the malignancy was actually in an abdominal and mammary tumour which a prompt lumpectomy and mastectomy took care of.
Now at the vet, we have discovered signs of renal inefficiencies. Her renal enzymes are very elevated. She is on I/V fluids and medication now. The vet wants to treat it as an acute renal condition hoping to assuage it in a few days. Today's Vet Bill was $670.14

We are happy to share that Daisy P's surgery on the 9th of June went smoothly. Both lumps have been removed and her review session with the Vet yesterday showed that the surgery sites are healing well. Please refer to the featured photo on this page.
Dear Animal Lovers,
Once again we are SINCERELY and URGENTLY appealing for contributions to help with medical care for rescued dogs.
If you have followed us for awhile, you may know of Daisy P, the mummy of our D team puppies. We first met her in late December 2014, when a factory supervisor informed us that a dog was nursing several puppies on the premises. We managed to rescue Daisy P and her puppies, although two of those puppies subsequently succumbed to disease. For more information about the story back then, please read these links: https://www.facebook.com/pg/k9missions/photos/?tab=album&album_id=741602012641957 and https://www.facebook.com/pg/k9missions/photos/?tab=album&album_id=642948289173997
Recently, we noticed that there were 2 small lumps near Daisy P’s mammary glands. The larger of the 2 lumps started growing bigger so we brought her to the vet for a check up.
5th of June 2017 – We brought her to Barkway, the vet performed a blood count, 4DX and liver kidney profile tests. Her blood count and liver kidney results are normal and she tested negative for heartworm. A series of x-rays were also taken, with a few circular shadows noted on the lungs. The vet suggested surgery to remove the lumps to provide her with a better quality of life.
8th of June 2017 - With that we decided to bring Daisy P to another vet to seek a second opinion, we brought her to see Dr Ly at ARVC. We also hoped to find out if there is a chance the surgery to remove the lumps can be performed in a safer way, perhaps with a shorter GA as we were worried that the risk is high and she may not pull through the surgery given her health condition.
Upon examination, Dr Ly shared that the lump could have grown larger due to inflammation and infection as part of a neoplastic process. He also noted the other hard mammary lump. He did a bladder ultrasound, cystocentesis to collect urine sample for testing and x-rays (as the ones taken at the previous vet were not clear enough). Through the x-ray Dr Ly shared that the shadows were metastatic lung lesions and suspects mammary tumor.
Dr Ly plans for a masectomy and lumpectomy to remove the 2 small lumps. Due to Daisy P’s health condition, it will be done under LA and mild GA, keeping the surgery time to the minimal. The surgery has been set for 9th of June 2017. Dr Ly also prescribed testosterone as well as shark cartilage.
Dr Ly has recommended for us to get these supplements, here is the breakdown of costs based on the amount needed monthly:
• Beta Glucan suppository: $228* for 36 pieces
• Shark Cartilage suppository: $388.44* for 36 pieces
Here are the vet bills incurred so far:
• 1st vet visit (5th of June 2017) – Barkway: $228.54
• 2nd vet visit (8th of June 2017) – ARVC: $590.37
We seek your help yet again, this time for Daisy P. She is such a strong girl and just like for Louie (https://simplygiving.com/appeal/louie), we will do all that we can to help her. Our funds are still very low after everything that has happened so far and we really need all the help that we can get.
Based on our estimates, Daisy P will need about $1,500 a month until she recovers. This fee will cover the cost of her supplements, vet visits, surgery, transport, food and shelter. We will also post updates on the funds received and how they are spent. Any excess contributions received will be use for our other rescue dogs expenses (eg. vet bills, food, etc).
We will be updating on Daisy P’s progress as regularly as we can. Attached pictures of Daisy P's vet bills, x-ray and ultrasound and supplements receipts etc for reference.

We are a group of individual that came together for the cause of rescuing and re-homing street dogs in Singapore. Through creating public awareness and active sterilization of dogs, we aim to reduce the number of strays in our country.
Our group is a non-profit organization and operate using our own funds. As resources are limited, donations from the public will help us greatly in our cause. Apart from funds, we are also constantly on the lookout for dedicated volunteers. To get in touch with us, please visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/k9missions/
