This March, in conjunction with International Women’s Day, The Red Pencil (International) has a goal to raise $25,000 by 18 March 2018 for our mission to bring the power of arts therapy to the women survivors of burns and gender-based domestic violence, housed in the rehabilitation centre International Foundation for Crime Prevention and Victim Care (PCVC) in Chennai, India.
For as little as USD 130, you can bring the benefits of arts therapy to a victim of gender-based domestic violence and help her recover and heal from the horrendous psychological trauma that she had been through.
According to the International Centre for Research on Women, violence against women and girls (VAWG) is among the most universal and pervasive human rights violations, affecting at least a billion women across the globe. VAWG takes many forms, including physical and emotional abuse, forced and unwanted sex, early and forced marriage, female genital cutting, trafficking and deprivation of resources and rights.
Help us rebuild and restore the lives of these women through the power of arts therapy this International Women’s Day.
Thank you, "The Red Pencil" for reaching out to these women and for helping us reach out to them. God bless and multiply your kind initiative :)

About our Mission Partner
PCVC, a non-profit, tax-exempt, registered public charitable trust based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, was founded and registered in 2001. It originated as a response to the city's noticeable absence of support agencies for women who are survivors of domestic abuse. Their mission is to help rebuild lives damaged by abusive family relationships and to facilitate the process of self-empowerment for women survivors of family violence. Overarching goals involve providing both emotional and practical support structures for women with abusive partners.
Our Beneficiaries
All proceeds of the funds raised will be directed towards The Red Pencil’s mission to provide sustainable arts therapy programme in partnership with PCVC. The arts therapist will be present for a duration of 6 months and will work with the women victims of domestic violence and who have been admitted either at PCVC’s shelter or into the burns ward at the public hospital.
With the USD 25,000, the programme can reach out to almost 200 women and their children over a period of 6 months.
The objectives of the mission are to:
