On 12 May, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake hit
the town of Namche Bazaar, Nepal. Hundreds of homes have collapsed, many of
which were already damaged by the previous 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck
the country just weeks ago.
These earthquakes claimed thousands of
lives, and left innumerable Nepalese injured and homeless. While countries in
the world are stepping up to provide relief packages and deploy crisis response
teams to aid in Nepal’s relief efforts, the United Nations has said that at
least two million people need tents, water, food and medicine over the next
three months.
NOL would like to lend our support to the
victims during this difficult time. We are appealing to our staff to come
together and donate towards the cause. All monies collected will be channeled
to the Singapore Red Cross “Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund“ to provide earthquake
survivors with relief items and emergency supplies. NOL will match
dollar-for-dollar for all the donations made by staff through this web portal.
