Birthdays are important to me as it is a day to celebrate life. Instead of birthday gifts, let's celebrate my birthday by donating to the cause closest to my heart--for children affected by the Earthquake in Turkiyë and Syria. Donate now. Even RM 10 will make a difference!

My Story

When the two massive earthquakes and multiple aftershocks struck south-east Türkiye and Syria, I was shocked, and speechless seeing numerous footage of children and the people of Türkiye and Syria, under the rubble, trapped, and others including children and their families in danger. 

According to UNICEF, 41,000 death toll is recorded in total at this point. While the exact number of children impacted is unknown, 5.4 million children in Turkiyë districts are impacted, while more than 2.5 million children are also affected in Syria. Numerous people have lost their houses and are currently staying in makeshift shelters, often in extreme cold with rain and snow intensifying their suffering. The well-being of children and families is further jeopardised by the massive damage that the earthquakes have done to schools and other essential facilities. Access to safe water and sanitation, and the health needs of the affected population, are also major concerns.

For my birthday this year instead of gifts and cakes, I would like to celebrate my birthday by fundraising for Turkiyë and Syria. Every Ringgit counts, to help UNICEF response to the massive disaster, to help affected children and families in this time of need.
