Personal Challenge

My First 100 km Ride

My Story

I will be joining a challenge, on12 of September, cycling a distance of 100 km in an effort to raise money for Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) - Singapore’s national disability sports body offering a wide range of sports at both elite and non-elite levels.

I started on the bike only from June 2015, when I bought a bike for my triathlon race. Quickly I found myself addicted to cycling and I decided to challenge my in Wheels for Change.

The reason I choose Singapore Disability Sports Council  is that sports is a short cut to quality life and those disabled should have more support towards quality life as well. The goal of SDSC goal is to use sports to promote the well-being of the disabled in Singapore, helping them to live full and independent lives.

I had been committed to training during the past months. I did things I’d never thought of before like getting up at 5am fro a ride, "trail-and-fall" practicing clip-in shoes and sweating 70 km alone under the heat. After a recent fall injuring my back, the only activity I did while recovering was, cycling.

I am not even close to a good cyclist but because of the sheer enthusiasm and a strong will to help those disabled, I believe I will get to the finishing line with 100 km mark crossed!

Please kindly generously support the cause by donating, all attention and contributions will be carefully appreciated.
