BEAT'ABOX GROUP PTE LTD

BEAT’ABOX GROUP is a social enterprise, founded, initiated and powered by young people, using music as a vehicle to bring positive solutions to societal needs, to heighten joyful vibrancy of life in Singapore, and to develop leadership and entrepreneurial ability, and active citizenry, especially among young people.   BEAT’ABOX GROUP activities are divisible into these main arenas: Education, Arts and Community.

EDUCATION
:
Our vision is for every household, corporate entity and educational institution in Singapore to own a cajon, and to be equipped with proper foundational skills in playing a cajon. With this head-start in Singapore, we aim to become a world-leader in cajon training. We are, at the moment, the only organization in this part of the world that offers a structured programme for learning to master the cajon, a world percussive instrument originating from Peru, dating back to the 17th century.   Through our education arm, we do not aim to just create music appreciation or mastery of the cajon, but we see this simple populist instrument as a means to achieve positive individual and organizational goals, such as self-confidence, team-building and volunteerism.

ARTS
:
BEAT’ABOX brings a vibrant and creative approach towards the enjoyment and sharing of music in the local arts performance scene through our unique skills in the cajon. We also promote young and upcoming local artistes through collaboration in events, and provide them a platform for greater visibility.   BEAT’ABOX also aims to influence the performance scene in Singapore by injecting made-in-Singapore world-class BEAT’ABOX cajons into the local arts performance scene.

COMMUNITY
:
BEAT’ABOX GROUP formed The Cajon Society, our community outreach arm, with a mission to unite citizens of all ages, from various walks of life, through the uplifting skill of music-making and creative drumming on the cajon.
