Zara Liew, a Public Health Master’s holder, has created an online picture book about the recent spread of COVID-19. Due to movement control orders to combat the spread of COVID-19, families have to spend more time at home. For children, this disruption to their daily lives can be even more stressful and confusing. This picture books aims to help ease children's anxieties around the coronavirus and suggest tips on stay happy and healthy indoors. The book can be downloaded on pdf through a link. 

The proceeds of the donations to these books will be received by charities in Malaysia who are supporting vulnerable communities affected by restriction orders and facing disruptions in their usual operations and funding mechanisms. Yayasan Chowkit’s mission is to protect the rights of at-risk children and youth provide a whole host of services for children and their families. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Yayasan Chowkit have stepped up to deliver food and essential items to vulnerable families. 

SUKA society focus on protecting marginalised children in refugees and orang asli communities, amongst other groups. During and following the movement control period several families and refugee foster families are facing income and employment insecurity. SUKA society is driven to continue supporting these families throughout with essential food drops.

After illustrator fees the proceeds will be split between the 2 charities.
