Pink & Teal Empowher is reaching out the all corners of the villages in Sarawak, conducting screenings, follow-ups and education to give the indigenous communities a chance to live life. Cervical cancer is the top 2 cancers affecting women and it is 90% preventable. Having been on these outreaches, seeing the dedicated team and learning about the impact they have on these people, there is only so much I can do being based in Kuala Lumpur. Recently, I've just gotten my HPV vaccine and have been doing yearly tests as I'm part of the risk group for cervical cancer. Knowing that vaccines and tests are not readily available for those who need it takes away their chance of getting early treatment and preventing it, it weighed heavy on my heart. Many have asked me this year if there is anything I need or want, after giving it some thought, what would make an impact in my life is knowing that we can do our part to bring a change for good for the women in Sarawak. The Pink & Teal Empowher screen, trace results and conduct follow-ups to ensure that the villages they've visited. As a Sarawakian woman, it frustrates me that the rural Sarawakian women are constantly left out of equitable breast and cervical cancer screening and constantly present at late, inoperable stages of these cancers. Cervical cancer can be prevented and EVEN eliminated, while early detection of breast cancer SAVES lives. Join me as I raise funds for equitable breast and cervical cancer screening for the Rural Sarawakian Women. All proceeds go to providing free breast and cervical cancer screening to rural Sarawakian Women

2020 has hit us hard. Due to the world wide lockdown, we have not been able to raise the fund necessary to maintain our operation. However, we have not stopped screening and have sent HPV self-sampling kits into the rural areas of Sarawak, namely Long Lamai, Long Banga and Long Sait of Ulu Baram. We are currently working with Health Clinic Beladin to extend HPV cervical cancer screening to the women of surrounding areas.Help us raise fund to bring easily accessible HPV self-sampling to Sarawakian Women.This deadly cancer is >90% preventable by vaccination and screening however, only 20-30% of Sarawakian women get screened.The self-sampling HPV kit has been proven to remove obstacles and barrier to cervical cancer screening. Please help us reach out to rural women.

Pink & Teal EmpowHer (Persatuan Kesedaran Kanser Wanita) is a non-government charity organization, which aspires to increase awareness and screen women for breast and cervical cancer irrespective of race, religion, cultures and boundary. We aim to provide screening with utmost compassion, professionalism and care.We form groups of volunteer non-medical and medical students, personnel and clinical specialist to the rural women of Sarawak to offer them adequate breast and cervical cancer screening. We employ the VIa technic, a simple and cost-effective method of cervical cancer screening shown to be equal if not superior to the Pap Smear with immediate results to reduce drop out in follow up rates.
