Fundraising for:
RDA Singapore

Welcome to my fundraising page! On Oct. 6, 2013, I will be running the Tri-Factor Half-Marathon (13.1 miles/21KM) in honor of the Riding for the Disabled Association of Singapore (RDA). Since 1982, the RDA provides free, therapeutic horse-riding programmes that benefit children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. Perhaps the most renowned RDA riders are Gemma Foo and Maximillian Tan who represented Singapore in the 2012 London Paralympics! I've volunteered at the RDA since 2006 - albeit with a four year respite while studying overseas. Time and time again I've seen the glowing smiles emerge on the riders' faces - and a fair share of frustration too! - as they tackle the challenges provided by equine-assisted activities and reap the rewards in the form of increasing flexibility, motion control, and the pure joy one can experience from self-empowerment and achieving goals! Such moments reinforce my commitment to the RDA's cause of empowering and promoting the well-being of all people with learning and physical disabilities. I am dedicating my upcoming half-marathon to all RDA riders. The RDA is one-of-a-kind in Singapore and relies entirely on sponsorship and donations from the public to fund the annual operational costs of about $900,000 to 1 million dollars to provide free therapeutic horse-riding programmes. Please consider donating to this cause and supporting my fundraising efforts for the RDA.
