On 17 January 2016, I will be taking part in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, my first full marathon (42.195 km) ever. Seriously I though half marathon (21 km) is hard enough 5 years ago and full will be crazy but yes… I did a crazy thing this year by signing up without too much of thinking and there’s no holding back. I certainly think of Gary Tan, my ex-boss, a dear friend, a respectful leader, a role model and an inspirational human being and much more, who would be proud of my decision as he always told me, ‘Do what you love and act on it’. I know he will run side by side with me and encourage me along the way from above! To celebrate my 1st ever marathon and to make it more memorable, I would like to gather the greater force and seek for your generous donation to support Standard Chartered's global initiative, "Seeing is Believing", to help tackle preventable blindness. Hi, My brother Matthew and I will be running our first half-marathon at the Standard Chartered HK Marathon on Jan 25th. We have been running 8k and 10k each weekend, but have never ran anywhere near 20k. In fact we are falling well short of our "training targets" - no surprise - but hope to "wing" it on the day and make it past the torturous Western tunnel back to the HK side and to the finish in Victoria Park! We'd like to take this opportunity to raise money for the less fortunate and have selected ORBIS as our charity. It is a 2km-race involving prominent Hong Kong business and community leaders that raises funds for Seeing is Believing.
