I am cycling 100 km at the Wheels for Change on Saturday 12th September to raise funds for Bizlink, which supports the disadvantaged (especially the disabled) to achieve independence, dignity and integration into society through open and sheltered employment. My intention is to spread awareness of this initiative and obtain more support for Bizlink so the people in need get the assistance they require to reach their goals.I'm sure you have seen many disabled or handicapped having to earn money to support themselves or their families by selling tissues or keychain souvenirs. They can't find jobs because of barriers to learning and lack of skills, and some even lack access to care! Help me help them to make a difference in their lives. Thank you for reading and I hope you can also help us to raise awareness of Bizlink and other charities that are supporting the people in need. Postponed to October 17, I will be cycling 100km across Batam, trying to keep up with the Batam Boyz, because the Batam Girls is now only me, to raise money for three local charities. The three charities support children and adults with learning and physical disabilities in various ways. My aim it to raise $SG1000. Any contribution large or small would be great. Cheers. Damaris

As I sat on my rusty hybrid, soaked, shattered and 10 miles still to go to Newcastle on the first day of the first Wheels for Change event in 2011, little did I think that (a) I would ever walk properly again, (b) I would soon have a drawer dedicated solely to lycra, and (c) within 3 years Wheels for Change would have raised over GBP1 million for charity. But it's all true - and it's been simply amazing. Last year we held the first WFC Asia event on Batam, attracting over 220 participants and raising SGD 110k for charity. It was a fantastic day and an extremely satisfying culmination of a lot of hard work. I am so pleased that we are in a position to repeat the event in 2015.This year's WFC Asia ride will take place on 12th September and will be supporting 3 charities: Bizlink Centre. Rainbow Centre and SDSC. Please help me to raise a huge amount of cash for these amazing organisations. My personal plan is to ride the Asia event on Sat 12th September and then hop on a plane to the UK to take part in the 3-day 325 mile ride - a somewhat physical challenge for someone with little legs!
