Yayasan Sunbeams Home

A group of seniour children from Yayasan Sunbeams Home in KL are embarking on a never-before experience to help raise funds for themselves, for the Sunbeams home and for countless generations of children to come. They are training hard to kayak around Asia's largest man made lake - Tasik Kenyir (Lake Kenyir).  The plan is to complete this over a 6 day expedition at the end of Augsut 2017.The team of 16 children have been learning kayaking technique and training hard to build up their endurance since February 2017.  These children have never kayaked before so these are all new skills.  Additionally, many are unable to swim so it has been paramount that they develop these skills also ASAP.The learning curve has been steep and the mental challenge as well as the physical, has been considerable.  Hoever, they all agree that this commitment and challenge has shaped them into stronger and determined young adults. The team have been supported by the Home staff, a range of volunteer canoists and kayakers, adventurists and many others who are able to offer leadership, transportation and moral support. They really do deserve a round of applause and a small contribution to their amazing cause.  Thank you!Donations may be made here via Simplygiving or directly via our bank account.  Donations via simply giving may be tracked and there is a 5% service fee.Donations over Rm100 will be entitled to a tax exempt receipt if requested.
