Moved to Singapore last year and attended one of these great events in October. This is an absolutely fantastic cause. Anyone who's visited Cambodia knows its had more than its fair share of pain and heartache to deal with, and yet it's people are some of the friendliest around. The country still wears the scars of its torrid past. Of course this charity can't change that, but it is making a real difference to the lives of both children and adults suffering from disability, that they would otherwise lack.

Let's table that six pack into this fund raiser and donate. For those who cannot see me fight, please do your part by donating. White Collar Boxing™ is so-called because its many participants come mainly from the white collar professions. It is a fast growing sport for men and women between the ages of 22 and 55 who look to challenge themselves in a controlled boxing environment. With an emphasis on safety, boxers are professionally trained in a 12-week program, to go on to participate in a 3x2 minute round bout in white collar events sanctioned by the World White Collar Boxing Association (WWCBA).The main event is now the focus after training, whether that be a black tie dinner or an arena style format. Hundreds of people will attend to witness the result of all that training as the night's drama unfolds. Charged with the personal emotions of knowing the participants, the audience is guaranteed to give each boxer a roaring welcome they will never forget. As the final bell sounds, regardless of the outcome of the fight, the participants will have joined one of the most elite groups on this planet, that of being a white collar boxer. Ask any of the hundreds of men and women who have taken the journey of white collar boxing™ and they will tell you it is one of the best experiences of their lives, from the intensity of their training and the camaraderie built with fellow boxers to the obvious excitement of boxing in front of their family and friends. All this and knowing that their efforts will also help raise funds for charity. Funds raised through this fundraising campaign will go towards supporting the Children's Surgical Centre (CSC) in Cambodia. The CSC provides a range of specialised rehabilitation surgical services, surgical training, and direct support to the people of Cambodia – free of charge. CSC is an international non-governmental organization (INGO) recognised by the Cambodian Royal Government. The upcoming IPP White Collar Boxing event in Singapore will be held on 29 April 2017.

So here it is. I finally decided to pull my finger out and do something for charity (ish.)I'll be perfectly honest, the charity was not much of a consideration when I first sent in my application to take part in the white collar boxing. My story begins some time back.To cut a long story short: over the years I've suffered from a terrible dual affliction. I am exceptionally annoying while also supporting a very punch-able face. While I can do very little indeed to lessen these I realised that I could possibly learn to limit the damage somewhat. When I saw the advert searching for this year's cohort it seemed like an opportune moment.I also saw it as a chance to get in shape which might increase the possibility of making me somewhat more acceptable to the fairer sex.I also saw it as a chance to provide some entertainment for my friends - especially those who are not averse to the idea of me getting a punch or two. They also said something about charity and I SAID "OK, JEEZ GET OFF MY CASE" and realised I could even guilt trip people into supporting. Apparently it's about some hospital in Cambodia where they provide free surgery for kids.Oh and because I'm on this charity bandwagon thing now I thought I would do another couple of things to make the donators feel that I have truly suffered to earn their contributions. So I will be:On Sunday 19th February I will be running the Mount Ugo Marathon in the Philippines http://kotmtrailrun.com/mount-ugo-marathon/ which looks like a bitch to run - so I'll be aiming for 7 hours. On Sunday 26th March I will be running Singapore's OSIM Sundown Night Marathon. http://www.sundownmarathon.com/singapore

Hey AllAs most/some of you folks are probably aware, I've foolishly signed up for the White Collar Boxing event in SG.Three months of healthy living, no booze and more exercise than is good for a sane, well balanced individual, will culminate in the White Collar event where our squad of 20 like-minded (crazy) folk will all compete in our boxing full match debuts.I've been pestering a lot of you guys based in SG to come to the event and support through tickets, but this reach out is for those that can't make it, either being abroad, or just too lazy.So please help support my foolishness, and frankly exhausting, hard work by contributing on this page. The supported charity is a great one - The Children's Surgical CentreIt's an organisation set up in Cambodia to provide often life changing/saving medical assistance to children that would have no access to this otherwise, due to not having the means or funds to receive any of the incredibly limited healthcare there. Please check out their site for further info; http://csc.org/about-csc/.All contributions, regardless of size are much appreciated and are going to a great cause.CheersStu

For all the people that know me you will know I am not in great shape! (I argue round is a shape but apparently not a good one :-/). I will be participating in IPPWhiteCollarBoxing 2017 Singapore! Over the next 12 weeks I will be Beaten, Exhausted, Demoralized, Frustrated and I dare say come close to giving up!! But with that I will also be built up, I will be Stronger, Fitter, Faster and more importantly Thankful. The IPPWhiteCollarBoxing is giving me the chance to not only change my life but those of others. By supporting my journey you too can change the future for those less fortunate than ourselves. We need your help regardless if its $1 or $100. The Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC) aims to improve the quality of life for disabled poor people by providing free rehabilitation surgery. Integral to this mission is a program of training local surgeons and health workers, focusing on the development of sustainable surgical services for Cambodians.Safe, simple surgery is easy to organise, can be cheap (US$35 per operation), and is highly effective. The results of successful surgery are beneficial to the patient, gratifying to the surgeon, and the technology is practical. The costs are sustainable for developing countries and are similar to the costs for medical treatment of chronic diseases. Locally trained surgeons can readily learn how to do appropriate procedures. So please guys let’s start seeing everybody as equal and help where we can, every donation will help us to achieve a better life for those less fortunate. “And if that’s not enough motivation for some of you, I’m going to get hit in the face a lot!!! Surely that’s worth a few Dollars”

Dear friends, many people in this world have to fight for their life – day by day. I’ve been blessed to be born in a “good” world – Germany – without wars but enough food, good education and maybe the highest standard of medical support in the world. Health is the most important asset humans have and without it, life can become tough – especially in the 3rd world countries. As individuals we are not able to change the world much but at least we can do a bit to support those in need. Fortunately I’ve been selected to help literally fighting for kids in Cambodia and with this a dream comes true. For more than 20 years I am following Boxing and I think it’s one of the most challenging sports as it requires endurance and strength, but also strategic thinking and strong mentality and last but not least the ability to withstand painful and unforeseen punches. I want challenge and proof myself that I can go through this not only as a participant but as the winner. My coaches Sam and Kelvin prepared a training program for the coming 12 weeks which includes ten training sessions of 90 minutes per week and a nutrition plan which made me cry when I saw it. But I am convinced this will help me to succeed. But besides that a second reason why I participate in the White Collar Boxing and not in another competition is the charity aspect. Any profit of this event as well as donations from the participants, their friends and colleagues and maybe also their employers goes to the Children’s Surgical Centre in Phnom Penh which is important as the poverty in Cambodia is high and alarming. My goal is to raise 5,000 USD in the next three months through several events such as BBQ and Cocktail parties and the auction of my fightname, my walk-in dress and my walk-in soundtrack. But I will also organize a German Weisswurscht Breakfast in March/April. More info to come. And to come closer to this goal, I will donate 250 USD myself and for any Dollar you donate, I will top-up 10% of your amount, so max USD 500 if we reach my goal.Thank you very much for your kind support.Juergen What is White Collar Boxing It is No. 1 event globally, as in nine years more than 800 boxers competed in front of 37,000 guests. White Collar Boxing sees everyday desk warriors from law, finance and advertising, signing up for an intense twelve-week training program before stepping into the ring at Vanda's award winning. Hundreds apply, twenty are chosen to start a journey that will not only change their lives but also those of children in Cambodia. THE BENEFITS BEYOND THE EVENT: Through more than $2million raised for Children's Surgical Centre in Cambodia, Vanda's White Collar Boxing has paid for thousands of operations for children in need as well as funding the opening of the Vanda Wing in 2013. Sweat and tears guaranteed, hopefully no blood. This is in aid of a wonderful charity in Cambodia - the Children's Surgical Centre http://csc.org/ - that aims to improve the quality of life for disabled poor people by providing free rehabilitation surgery. Integral to this mission is a program of training local surgeons and health workers, focusing on the development of sustainable surgical services for Cambodians. No patients are charged for operations or treatment at CSC, and the greatest need is for ongoing contributions to everyday running costs. Any donation, big or small, goes a long way in Cambodia and makes a real difference.

Will be pouring blood, sweat and tears into training for 12 weeks to try and put on a show for everyone attending. Please give as much as you can, especially to those who can't be there on the night!

I've had a lifetime of physical and mental tests thrown at me by life, as most of you will know. As recent as 12 months ago, I had both knees replaced, which was an excruciating experience. But that, and everything prior pales when you see the plight of these kids in this surgical centre going through challenges every day. In an environment still littered with mines from conflict, the centre provides much needed surgical support to the community there. But - the demand for their services is massive and they need funds. It's time...time for me to combine my love of sport, aggression on the field and a desire as a Father to so something for these kids. Perhaps it's guilt for the loss of innocence and physical function of children that I saw in the Middle East and Afghanistan and couldn't help; or maybe it's 'just the right thing to do' - either way, I'm getting in the ring to 'go' it against whoever they put up. I am their oldest boxer on record at 54. I'm fit, and I've trained hard. I've been incredibly well supported and trained here. I know what I'm fighting for and I don't intend to stop until I've beaten the other bloke into submission. I have no emotion about that. Job's On !If it turns out that he wins, you will know that he has had to knock me out to claim a win coz I'm never giving up. I'm just not going to stop. As Mike Tyson once said - "Everyone wants to be the beast until it's time to do what beasts do". Help me bring some relief and hope to these kids. Donate what you can, or just send me a message of support, which is enough for me to know you care - or both.I'm fighting for them, for me as a self imposed test - and for you and what you value. Marc
