Fundraising for:
Angkor Hospital for Children
My name is
Polly.
Many people
call me Polly Pocket and I guess in some way that's an accurate description of
me as I am quite pocket sized with a carefree and adventurous spirit to match.
I believe that no one should ever just be confined to a bucket list - that is
why mine never stops customising! It keeps me on my toes, and makes sure that I
am never "short-changed". One of my
many mantras in life is to always challenge myself and try new things. Thus, my
decision to take part in the Angkor Wat Marathon - as it would be for me - one
of many firsts. My first time to Cambodia; My first overseas run ; My first time
raising funds through it.
I may not an awesome runner and I have no delusions of breaking any records.
But for me, running has always been more of a battle of wits between my mind
and my body. No matter the outcome, I have always found running to be an
enriching experience. And I am grateful and blessed for this opportunity to be
able to take one passion, running, to fuel another - helping the less
fortunate.
Living in a
metropolitan city like Singapore, blessed with many luxuries and options,
sometimes we forget to take stock of how fortunate we are. In doing this, I
hope to extend some manner of relief, comfort and awareness to the kids at
Angkor Hospital for Children - who are fighting battles of their own, some of
which larger and more profound than we can never know.
So please
help me in our efforts to pay it forward and also promote an altruistic global
society by donating.
I know this
would mean a lot to both the kids as well as to the people who work tirelessly
to make them comfortable.
Your support
means a lot.
Sincerely,
Polly
