Do Something Good

Hi there! I'm trying to help raise money for the iMKIRAN project, “Give Them Light”. This project aims to get 1,000 Nokero Solar Lights for the typhoon Haiyan victims in the Philippines. Each light costs RM 45 (USD$ 14/ BND$ 18). Nokero Solar Lights are solar-powered lights that can last for six hours after being exposed under the sunlight for half a day. What’s going on is that people there do not have electricity as a result of the typhoon. So, they can only depend on Kerosene lamps to be their main source of light when night falls. The problem is, these Kerosene lamps are proven to be dangerous, “Living with a kerosene lamp, is like smoking 40 cigarettes a day” - Nokero International We all need light to do our activities. Remember how we can’t do much every time we experience a blackout? How we would start searching for candles and torch lights, so, that we can get light? Not just the adults but the children also need light to play. The victims have to go through this every single night unless they use the dangerous Kerosene lamps. Help give them light by giving them Nokero Solar Lights. Help the kids enjoy their childhood. So, I’m trying to raise MYR 6,000 and I need your help. What I'm willing to do if I get my targeted amount is that I will cut my hair (Neck length) Why is cutting my hair such a big deal? Well, here's why. You see, I'm the girl who is known as the girl with the long hair. It is so common for people to comment on how long my hair is and I get attached to my hair even more when people compliment it. My hair is my image. Sometimes, people would say "Zira, your hair is so long! Have you ever thought of cutting it?" and my instant answer would be a big, fat "NO! Not even if you give me millions." Cutting my hair was never in my thoughts -- until now. You don’t have to give me millions for me to cut my hair. All I’m asking is for you to help me reach my targeted amount and I will do it! Another thing I would like to add on, if I reach my goal, my hair will be donated to cancer patients. So, once again, please help me reach my goal, please help the victims and thank you if you do. Do Something Good

On the 8th November 2013, a 300kph super typhoon destroyed Panay Island, Philippines and left millions homeless. As a result of the catastrophe, thousands are living with no electricity power, and are living in the dark after 6pm. A brief story of the survivors of Panay Island. Panay Island is located 500km away from Manila. It was the last island where the typhoon Haiyan destroyed after Tacloban on 8th November 2013. Although it has been almost three months since typhoon Haiyan hit Panay Island, thousands still live in the dark. Many are living with no homes, proper food or clean water. Sadly, the villagers live in temporary make shift shelters that leaks badly when it rains, food supply is limited, no clean water and thousands are living without electricity as of today. I have been living and traveling around Panay Island for more almost 4 months now and still see the devastation and destroyed lives of the people here. Project – “GIVE THEM LIGHT’ The “Give Them Light” project supplies and donates solar-powered light to the villages in Panay Island. We wish to donate a minimum of 1,000 Nokero Solar Powered Lights to these villages, Crossing Lais, Loguingot and other poor families in Panay Island. My personal target is to raise RM13,500 for 300 solar lights (Each Nokero solar light cost RM45.00) The 300 solar lights will be distributed by myself and NGO partners in Panay Island. On March 22, 2014, we have receive and donated 190 Nokero Solar lights. See the video and photos attached. Any amount is good, RM10, RM20, RM50.. your choice, just dig deep and donate, every little effort counts! Kiran Kreer
