Please sponsor us to participate in the Barclays Wheels for Change and help to raise money to support the Rainbow Centre (a charity which supports young people with a diverse range of special developmental and learning needs through education and training, enabling them to achieve their fullest potential).The team is Stephen Hopkins, Duncan Watt, Tim Browning, Kirstin McCracken (Eversheds) and Chris Heath (Hilton). Between us we will be cycling a mighty 400km in the heat of Indonesia. My older brother had Aspergers Syndrome and any support we can give to people who devote their time and energy to helping those who don't have the advantages we have is welcome.

As part of Wheels for Change, I'm attempting to ride 100K to raise funds for Rainbow Centre on the 12 Sep 2015. Those legs will burn baby, I know that. In the same way, my own limits are being expanded here, children with special needs can do so much more beyond labels placed on them given the right platform, nurture and support. With my own mom working with children with special needs, and a sister also in education and friends that are parents of children with special needs, its quite quickly that I can size up that there is a huge gap between the amount and depth of resources available to mainstream and special needs education.I've heard this before: "I wish I had known that volatile temperament was a symptom of the disability rather than a problem teenager" or even "I'm so frustrated I don't know where to get help, should I quit my job and be a full time stay at home parent?" , "If he goes to a special school, will there be stigma?", "Can he take care of himself if I am gone?" These thoughts are difficult but real challenges that are felt by parents and these can be increasingly addressed if given the right support, and it is organisations such as Rainbow Centre that do just that. By you reading this, I've already achieved my goal of you having to think about this and if you feel personally for this cause, it would be much appreciated if you could make a donation of any amount through this portal that would go directly to Rainbow Centre. (FYI: The cost of event participation I've borne myself, any donations raised will go directly to the organisation)On an individual basis, I'm grateful for any kind of support - be it help in this fund raising or kind words of encouragement that you can drop me. After missing out on last year's Wheels For Change charity ride and having to listen to my team mates heroic exploits from a hospital bed I'm really looking forward to this years WFC Asia which will take place in Batam on 12th September. I'm planning on riding the 100 km's of rolling hills, in the baking heat, torrential rain (or most likely both) for 3 great charities: Rainbow Centre, SDSC and Bizlink Centre (and I solemnly swear to abstain from all fixie riding in the rain the week before the ride!).Please help me to raise some money for these very worthy causes. I am cycling 100 km at the Wheels for Change on Saturday 12th September to raise funds for Bizlink, which supports the disadvantaged (especially the disabled) to achieve independence, dignity and integration into society through open and sheltered employment. My intention is to spread awareness of this initiative and obtain more support for Bizlink so the people in need get the assistance they require to reach their goals.I'm sure you have seen many disabled or handicapped having to earn money to support themselves or their families by selling tissues or keychain souvenirs. They can't find jobs because of barriers to learning and lack of skills, and some even lack access to care! Help me help them to make a difference in their lives. I am doing this because I like cycling but more importantly because this way I can raise awareness for the "Rainbow Charity" association in Singapore. We love cycling but doing that while raising money for children with different needs will make the day really special! Hopefully the mates at BCM cycling and friends can contribute a small amount to help fund the daily needs and programmes to help infants and young children with down syndrome, development delay, cerebral palsy or multiple disabilities. Thank you for coming by this page, giving up a Starbucks or 2 will add up to a meaningful amount. Again, I will submit a request to my company for a dollar for dollar matched funding for charity. I am not totally new to cycling, but I am new to long distance riding (It's totally demanding!). By raising funds for charity makes riding 100km more meaningful. For my first riding for charity, the choosen charity is Rainbow Centre Singapore. Rainbow Centre serves infants, children and youths with a diverse range of moderate to severe developmental special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and physical, visual and/or hearing disabilities; with many suffering from multiple disabilities. Through a diverse range of special developmental and learning needs through education and training, Rainbow Centre allows the young people to achieve their fullest potential. I hope to raise funds to show support for the special individuals I know.

The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) is the national sports body for the disabled in Singapore. It is a voluntary organisation registered with the Commissioner of Charities. It is the only organisation in Singapore which reaches across all disability groups, offering a wide range of sports at both elite and non-elite levels. It is, in fact, Singapore’s national disability sports organisation.Please help me out with a contribution for this great cause.
