Fundraising for:
ACRES

Warmest Greetings and Thank you for stopping by! I am with the Macaque Rescue Team at ACRES (Animal Concerns Research and Education Society), a non governmental organisation. I left my 5year career with the Singapore Zoo as I found myself deeply affected by the threats that the Long Tailed Macaques have been facing. They are forced to leave their natural habitat to make way for land developments. They are being trapped and culled randomly when residents refuse to co-exist. Illegal snares have been set up to trap these monkeys and often they are left to bleed to death or live a life with a missing limb. These highly intelligent and mis-understood monkeys are our native wildlife and they need to be protected. My mission is to save the monkeys by inspiring the hearts of many to understand and then want to conserve these monkeys. I am taking part in the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2013 in 01/12/2013 and I aim to raise money for ACRES as part of the Save the Long Tailed Macaques campaign. This will be my first full marathon. I have been training hard for this and every km is dedicated towards saving the monkeys. I am passionate in this mission and hence, crazy enough to dedicate a 42km run for the monkeys. Will you help the monkeys too? Please dig deep and donate, it doesn't matter how much as every little counts! The proceeds of your support are immediately sent directly to my charity. Much love, Sabrina Jabbar

Fundraising for:
Persatuan Cerebral Palsy Johor

I know it will surprise many of you but I've finally decided to get fit and whilst doing so what better idea than to raise some money for a very worthy charity. You may mock and suggest that I'm suffering from a mid-life crisis but if that is all I have to put up with to get fit and help to improve the lives of some kids who have been given a rough start in lives then I'm up for the challenge! I will be taking part in Standard Chartered Singapore Half Marathon 2013 on 01/12/2013 and aiming to raise money for The Spastic Children's Association of Johor. The Spastic Children’s Association of Johor was formed in 1967. Having started with only eight children in borrowed premises at the Jubilee Home, today the Association has its own premises and caters to the special needs of 137 children afflicted with Cerebral Palsy. The Association takes pride in being one of the first organisations in the state of Johor that provides specialised professional services for cerebral palsy children. http://www.spasticjohor.com/ Dig deep guys and let's make a real difference to the lives of these kids! Thanks, John

Fundraising for:
EMCC (Eagles Mediation & Counselling Centre)

Hi, thank you for visiting my joint fund-raising page with my colleague Joline. Run for our common humanity. Lighten your Emotional Baggage. We all have personally suffered or knew of someone who has experienced emotional or physical trauma - either through the death of a loved one, a nasty divorce or physical or emotional abuse. We've all been wounded in conflicts with our family members, friends or co-workers. It's tough carrying your 'emotional baggage' alone. Help from a trusted, trained person can lighten the load and help bring HOPE for a better future. At EMCC, our experienced counsellors and mediators have the passion and skills to help. They will journey along with you in the healing process. As a non-profit organization, EMCC provides subsidized counselling and mediation services to all who need these services. On 1 December, Joline and Belinda, two of EMCC's staff will hit the road at the Standard Chartered event to aim to raise $5,000. The funds that are raised will go towards the provision of subsidies for needy people. In an enactment if solidarity with our humanity, Joline and Belinda will carry a 'baggage' as they run. They will carry for a 'season' the hopes and hurts of our common humanity in the bag. We appeal for your generous support for Joline and Belinda's fundraising campaign. More significantly, we invite you to participate in this meaningful event by donating or sending us a 'piece'of baggage - a short message expressing hurts for healing and hopes of our shared community. You can email your piece to [email protected] or write it in the comment section at the bottom of the page. Join us at the finishing line for a symbolic moment as we unload the baggage that we have been carrying for 10km, come see and hear about the hurts and hopes of our common humanity. Look out for photo & video updates in the lead up to the run. Dig deep and donate!

SAVH

How easily we take what we can do today for granted. That beautiful landscape, the vibrant colours, walking, running,… these actions seem like a 'normal' activities to us. Did we stop to count our blessings? There are others out there who struggle with life little deeds? Help make a difference to the lives of others who want to ‘see’ and feel the world the way like us. We would like to invite employees who plan to run in the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) on Sunday, December 1, to form a Credit Suisse team. In line with the spirit of providing team based opportunities and promoting the importance of exercise and good health, we would also like to remind ourselves of the lesser privileged who do not have the opportunity to do sports as easily as most of us. For the first time last year, 7 visually impaired runners completed the 10 km run in SCMS, with the help for volunteer guides who ran alongside them. This year, to applaud their courage, Credit Suisse will be dedicating our run to raise funds for the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), in particular, for their Sports for the Blind Club. We will be donating SGD1.00 to SAVH for every kilometer covered in your run. You may also use this link to do your own fundraising for SAVH. Through simplygiving.com you can make safe and secure donations to sponsor our cause. The proceeds of your support are immediately sent directly to the selected charity. Using this given platform is really simple and most importantly it's also a really cost efficient way for the charity to raise funds. This page allows you to follow our progress; share it with friends; voice encouragement or even join us and get involved yourself! Your colleagues/friends will be taking part in Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2013 in 01/12/2013 and aiming to raise money for Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped Please dig deep and donate, every little counts!
