Hi, thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. It is with great delight (and a very sore bum…) to let you know that I successfully completed the tour de Singapore cycle ride – ON A BORIS BIKE!!! Many thought it was not possible… and others thought I was completely delusional… but close on 8 hours later it was accomplished!! I won’t lie… there were moments that my legs hurt so much, and the sun was so relentless that I felt like giving up!! If any of you wish to attempt this, here are some warnings - The bike weighs a massive 50 pounds! At least twice as heavy as a regular bike - The 3 gears are designed for city riding, with a max speed of aprox 17kph on a flat, allowing for more appreciation of scenery - The saddle may be comfy for a short 15min ride, but when on it for close to 8 hours can do some serious damage - Going uphill is extremely slow and very painful on the legs! - Avoid cycling in extreme heat (like Singapore!!!) - Pray you don’t get a puncture – no way to repair it! Aidha is a fantastic charity with an office in Singapore that provides training to domestic workers which empowers them to save and start up their own businesses. I am raising money to be able to allow 3 ladies to participate in the training programme this Christmas and reach their potential. Please dig deep and donate, every little counts! Justin Hess
