Hi, thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. On Sunday 7th December I will be running my first half Marathon in Angkor Wat, Combodia to help raise some money for an extremely worthwhile cause. Angkor Hospital for Children have, since 1999, provided over 1 million medical treatments, whilst training a new generation of health workers to provide quality pediatric health care to Cambodian children and free care to those living in poverty. Average cost of treatment to AHC per child is US$23, so a small amount goes a very long way. Please dig deep and help support this worthwhile cause. I have chosen Angkor Hospital for Children as my charity to support, based on the impactful work they are doing for children in the community. Cambodians still suffer from endemic poverty. Poverty creates and exacerbates ill-health for a myriad of reasons whether it be a lack of decent shelter, access to clean water, access to food or adequate sanitation. Hi, thank you for taking the time to visit my page. After 25 years of idleness, I have finally decided to use my long legs for a good cause. I will be taking part in the Angkor Wat Half Marathon on the the 7th December and aiming to raise money for a fantastic local cause - Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC). In a country grappling with threadbare and/ore non-existent infrastructure, the hospital provides vital health care treatment for 150,000 children each year. It also works as a training center for doctors, nurses and health workers, allowing it to make an even wider impact on the Cambodian healthcare system. AHC operates as a non-profit foundation, reliant on the efforts of fundraisers and the generosity of donors. I therefore hope that this year I can do more than simply donate, but succeed in persuading you to as well. While (I hope!) you were given all the care you needed as a child, too often children in Cambodia are not. A small donation for my run will go a long way to preventing this.
