My Story

Hi, thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. After watching the TVB series, Extreme Sprint <極地狂奔> and actor Kenny Wong (黃德斌) running the Marathon des Sable (a 251-lilometer ultramarathon that takes place over six days in Sahara), I was foolish enough to start researching on these ultras (despite I had only ran one full marathon) and falling in love with the idea of trying one. I therefore suggested to my running buddies to do a similar race and they also, without hesitation, agreed. We then signed up for the Racing the Planet Roving Race which will take place in Madagascar in Aug 2014. The race is similar to the 4 dessert races organised by RTP which is known to be "the world's leading rough-country endurance footrace series." It takes place over 7 days and 250 kilometres and competitors are required to carry all their own equipment and food and are only provided with drinking water and a place in a tent each night to rest!" More details about the race can be found at http://www.4deserts.com/beyond/madagascar/ The race is no doubt going to be one of the toughest challenge for me (physically and mentally) and I want to take this good opportunity not only to challenge myself but to run / walk for a good cause and therefore to raise funds for a charity. I have selected Hong Kong Dog Rescue as the charity to support because I want to do more to help abandoned dogs. During these past few freezing cold days, I can't stop thinking how many little furry ones would freeze to death on the streets. I really wish I could give them a home and love but for obvious reasons, a more practical way to help is to fund raise for them.
