What is Read-Aloud Program?

Read-Aloud Program is  part of  LIFE Program, which helps children to improve their literacy skills. However, this program mainly focuses on preschool or childcare setting children.

This Read-Aloud program is a story-telling program incorporated with various activities including music and movement, matching cards and hunting games.

Objective of Read-Aloud Program

  1. Enhance concentration
  2. Improve Listening Skills
  3. Encourage children to read more stories
  4. Develop understanding, respect & appreciation for other cultures
  5. Cooperation between teachers and children (Bonding)

  6. Teaches moral values
  7. Distinguish between real world and fictional
  8. Develop empathy

What do I hope to achieve?

Through this Read-Aloud Program, I hope parents and teachers will understand the importance of  child's right to know and explore more knowledge. I also hope that this program can encourage children to read more, and hence assist them in their future learning pathway. Mostly importantly, reading and storytelling can develop the love to read in a child. I do hope that every child stands a chance to have their rights to study, play, socialize and relax as stated in Article 28 and Article 31 of United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child.
