My Story
Growing old can be scary. Feelings of loneliness and helplessness creep in. What more if one is homeless or is unable to stay with the family / relatives for some reason or other.
Since its inception in 1958, St. John’s Home for Elderly Persons has not just been a physical shelter for the needy elderly, but a haven where elderly residents feel accepted, cared for, safe and happy.
Sadly, the Home's lease will expire in 2015, and so has to construct a new building, estimated to cost S$12 million.
As we celebrate the Home's 55th birthday this year, we appeal to you, to help us provide a sanctuary for the elderly to live out their golden years in comfort and dignity.
No amount is too small. As the saying goes, "Many tiny drops make an ocean."
