My Story
We've always been so privileged and we've never had to go a day without pocket money... But what about those who have?
We want to help, and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF) aids children and youth of low-income families get through school. Since the project started in 2000, the Fund has disbursed close to $50m and helped over 130,000 cases of children and youth in providing them with monthly school pocket money. Easing the burden, children can use this money for school-related expenses, such as buying a meal during recess, paying for their transport or using it to meet other schooling needs.
