Lion Ruby Club is a registered non-profit making volunteering organization under the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Rugby Union (HKRU).  Our club provides rugby trainings to youth from the age of 12 to 18.  Most of our players are from grass-root families in Hong Kong.  Players are divided into 13, 14, 16, and 19 age groups. Because of the hard works from our players, dedications from our coaches and devotion from parents, our club is one of the largest Chinese local rugby clubs in Hong Kong.

Our players participate in 7s, 10s, 15s tournaments and 15s league competitions each year.  Our players are required to contribute an annual membership fee of HKD 800.  Depending on family financial circumstances, players may be fully or partially exempted from annual membership fee.  Players are provided at the cost of the club with two sets of uniform each year, weekly training by qualified coaches, training equipment, and team building exercises. We encourage our players to take part in friendly games with visiting teams from overseas and, as much as possible, to go for overseas rugby tours to broaden their horizon and life experience.

Over the past 20 years, we have provided formal rugby training to thousands of youth in Hong Kong.  Many of our talent players were and are now in HK national squads at different age levels.  To celebrate our 20 years of anniversary, we will organize a 5 days rugby tours to Ishiyama High School in Kyoto, Japan, in 2019 summer.  With limited budget and manpower, parent volunteers and coaches will have to pay for their own expenses for the tour. Our players will be required to contribute towards part of the costs for the tour.  We are now seeking for sponsorship of any possible kinds to fund the Japan tour.

Our club’s mission is to provide teenagers with a safe but challenging place outside of school and home to develop, via rugby sports, their physical and mental strengths so as to better serve the society when they become adults.  Our club is run by a group of dedicated parents on volunteering basis.  Each year, we will apply for subventions from HKRU and raise funds from individuals, companies, and organizations.  Your generous donations will allow more HK teenagers grow stronger and wiser.
