About Event

CARA was formed in the year 2000 by a dedicated group of animal lovers determined to help the plight of animals in the Philippines. We are a non-profit, non-government organization that receives no government funding; we rely solely on private donations.

CARA is in dire need of funds to sustain its operations. Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php300,000.00) or more is spent every month for the following:
1. Food and care for the 45 Laguna Pit Bulls
2. Greenbelt cattery (close to 100 cats)
3. 15 Dogs in AKF
4. Food and medicines for over 100 Clinic cats, vets fees, staff salaries and utilities
5. TNVR programs

Some of our Fur story:

Mini Me's:

Mini Me was fostered by CARA in Feb 2019 after a veterinary mission at a shelter. She was found by the veterinary team, covered in wounds and obviously in need of help.

CARA with the help of a supporter, arranged for her transport to a veterinary clinic for laboratory tests and complete consult. She was positive for demodetic mange with severe infection. Through the patience of the CARA staff, she was nursed back to health - regular medicated baths, wound cleaning, medication.

After only two months, she showed her confidence as a dog, Mini Me is one of CARA's success rescues. We hope that you can continue to help CARA help more dogs in need.

Candy's story

Candy was around 2 yrs old in 2014 when she was rescued by CARA in Singalong, Manila. She had an infected wound on her paw. CARA rescued Candy and brought her to the clinic. In spite of continuous medication, her wound did not heal. Much later the vet discovered that she was tied with a tiny rubber band that had embedded into her paw. That was the reason her paw was always infected. So the vet removed the rubber band and the wound finally healed.

Now, Candy is still under the care and foster of CARA. She's now their pet in the clinic. But if Candy could find a lovable foster home, CARA would be so grateful. Candy is one of the many CARA success rescues.
