About Event

Help us ERADICATE malnutrition and ADVOCATE the prevention of malnutrition.

In Vietnam, Nutrition Clubs cover 29 Area Development Programs (ADP) undertaken by World Vision.

The primary mission of the Nutrition Clubs is to eradicate malnutrition and advocate the prevention of malnutrition. This is to be done by raising awareness among caregivers, fostering proper health care practices, promoting community sustainable interventions, and increasing access of families to food security and agricultural opportunities.

Approximately 41% of the areas covered are villages, with a total of 521 nutrition clubs, reaching out to an estimated 17,029 children per month.  Approximately 27% of the children are below the age of five.

The Nutrition Clubs have seen positive results so far.  Families are cultivating vegetable patches and rearing domestic animals which enable them to supplement and balance their children’s diets. Caregivers demonstrated good knowledge of hygienic food preparation, nutrition, feeding, as well as management of common infections in, and accidents among, children. As a result, the living conditions and nutrition of these children have improved.

However, there are much more to be done, and we are determined to see them through – with your support.

Under the banner of “Nutrition for every child”, the One Goal Campaign will leverage on football to raise funds to help set up more nutrition clubs for 10,000 malnourished children, under the age of five, in Vietnam.  Three provinces have been identified -- Dien Bien, Yen Bai and Quang Ngai.
