For thousands of poor Indonesian children, ISCO Foundation is the reason they can go to school, to have an equal chance in life and dare to work towards their future dreams. ISCO is an independent, non-government organization established in May 1999 in response to the devastating social impact resulting from the economic and monetary crisis that occurred in Indonesia in the late 1990’s. Through a network of field teams located in neighbourhoods which are the worst affected areas in Indonesia’s cities, our organization strives to help marginalized communities --- those who live in poverty and those still suffering due to the ongoing crisis.
We reach out to community groups in extremely poor urban areas, with an approximate population of 800 families with income level below the minimum standard. Their children are in grave risk of becoming street children and of falling victim to child labor and/or neglect. ISCO Foundation strives to provide educational support to these marginalized children from a very young age (pre-school) until secondary level. ISCO ensures these children can go to school every day. We also provide support through sponsorship of their school fees, uniforms and text books.
We help hundreds of students to enter kindergarten each year, so they can avoid the fate of child labor. We need your support in giving to fund a Kindergarten school for at least 500 children in the community we serve.
