Govindasamy's Journey: Living with Dialysis

Govindasamy, 76, learned he needed lifelong dialysis from his doctor. Married with two children and three grandchildren, he and his wife depend solely on their son's income as a cleaner at Subang Airport. Despite hardships, Govindasamy worked tirelessly to support his family for 45 years. When his legs swelled and grew numb, tests at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah revealed kidney failure due to high blood pressure. Dialysis became his lifeline but cost him his job and left him without income. Grateful for subsidized treatments at Pusat Dialisis NKF – Bakti, Govindasamy walks daily to catch a ride to the center. Despite challenges, he remains positive, advising others to prioritize rest, diet, and exercise.
