My Story

Hi colleagues and friends, thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. Through simplygiving.com you can make safe and secure donations to sponsor me. The proceeds of your support are immediately sent directly to my charity. Using this given platform is really simple and most importantly it's also a really cost efficient way for the charity to raise funds. My page allows you to follow my progress; share it with friends; voice encouragement or even join me and get involved yourself! I completed 2 ultra trails and will be taking on Mount Fuji (91km) on the 26th April 2014. I DNF-ed this race last year as I did not manage to clear the last check point within the cut off time. Hopefully, I am stronger this year and am ready for the more technical climbs and will also ensure that I eat frequently (hit the wall the last time)so as to keep my energy up. I am raising money for Infant Jesus Homes and Children's Centres. The IJ Homes and Children’s Centres (IJHCC) has a rich and long history, beginning in 1854 when the first IJ Sisters, fondly known as the IJ Sisters, arrived in Singapore from France to set up schools for girls. Right from the time the school was first opened, babies were left abandoned at its gate (fondly known as the 'Gate of Hope'). Ever since then, the IJ Sisters founded a service to care for these abandoned children. Over the years, this service evolved with the changing needs of the social landscape of Singapore. While the residential care for children continued, day care service was offered alongside. Today, the IJ Sisters, together with the lay partners, remain called to the service of the poor.
