We have decided before our legs drop off completely to climb Mount Kenya and Kilimanjaro, Africa’s two highest mountains. As you may or may not know we both have dodgy knees, hips, backs, ankles and the rest, so getting to the top will be no mean feat for us! But to make the pain and strain worthwhile we thought it would be an excellent idea to fundraise for the SPCA’s new Animal Welfare Centre in the New Territories! The new building will function primarily as an Education, Community and Welfare Centre….and is planned to be built for the SPCA’s centenary celebrations!Help us make the SPCA’s 100th Birthday the best ever by sponsoring us in “staggering to the summits”! No amount is too small…it all adds up! We are hoping to raise HK$100,000! Thanks for your support! Catriona and Jane  …and of course all our canines, feline and exotic friends!

Our project is called P.A.A.C. (Protection Against Animal Cruelty). Our mission is to raise money and awareness towards the animal cruelty in Hong Kong. We plan to use these funds to donate to animal welfare organizations who have the same aims as us such as: SPCA, Animal Asia and PAWs. P.A.A.C. aims to educate people to not be a bystander of animal cruelty and not purchase products that have been tested on animals. Our goal to stop/lessen animal cruelty starts with you! Take action against animal cruelty because all animals deserve to live, just like you and I, even one dollar can make a difference! Our team thanks you immensely for funding our campaign.*All proceeds from this campaign will go towards Animal Asia, SPCA and PAWS (The funds will be evenly split among these three organizations)

Wong Choi is now the sweetheart of our family! However, this female mongrel has a sad story behind......Wong Choi was terribly sick when SPCA inspectors rescued her from a public toilet in Sheung Shui in March 2016. She was anemic, very thin, and had a massive tumor the size of a pineapple on her right front leg that exuded a foul odor of infection and made it too painful for her to walk. Yet, despite the agony she was suffering, her tail wagged every time she met someone new. The SPCA veterinary surgeons amputated her affected leg -- the tumor was a nasty cancer -- and stoic Wong Choi made a full and successful recovery after surgery. In no time at all she learned to balance perfectly on three legs and her happy-go-lucky personality remained unchanged. In early August, we visited the SPCA Adoption Centre and fell in love with her at the first sight. And guess what -- we also have a three-legged cat! Wong Choi now is living happily with us, yet everyday there are so many animals being abandoned, abused or injured. Though our beloved Wong Choi cannot walk for a long distance, we will still  show up and support the SPCA Dogathon ( www.spca.org.hk/dogathon ). We hope our presence can help other unfortunate furry friends! Please do support us!

Woof woof! Life on  the streets was tough for me and my  babies  until  some good Samaritans brought us  to the SPCA last October. I was exhausted and emaciated when the vet first examined me, as you can see in my old photo below. Don’t I look very different now! As a mom, I’m grateful that my pups  were adopted by wonderful  families. I myself was staying in Stanley Centre but sadly up until its closure last December, nobody  had decided to give me a home. I was the only dog left in the Center on  the last day  so forgive me for wallowing in a bit of self-pity. . Now I’m waiting to be adopted  at Wan Chai Centre and I’m not giving up! I’m even taking on the role of Captain of Dogathon 2017, leading other dogs on a mission to raise funds for our  kennels! Please donate now and support my team!

The Secret Behind the Happy Life of WinkleWinkle, a beautiful 6-year-old Pomeranian cross, is the sweetheart of our family. We adopted him at SPCA last year. We don't know much about his history, and only know that he had been referred from the government kennels and later transfered to SPCA. SPCA's veterinarians noticed that he had been suffered from a chronic condition in his right eye that had caused much discomfort. After several months of medical treatment by SPCA, Winkle had not responded and the decision had been made to surgically remove his eye to avoid further complications and pain. He now lives happily with us, yet everyday there are so many animals being abandonded, abused or injured. We hope that Winkle could help and walk for their furry friends at SPCA Dogathon (www.spca.org.hk/dogathon). Please do support us!

The SPCA (HK)

Hi, thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. I am due to do a 250km running race on the 12th of May, in Jordan in the middle East. The race is part of a series called Racing The Planet (http://www.4deserts.com/beyond/jordan) and this particular one starts in Amman in Jordan, and finishes up 250km later amongst the ruins of Petra (closely followed by a drink or three in Tel Aviv) - covering about 40km per day running through the desert (with avg temperatures at 30 'C daytime, 0 'C night). One particularly interesting section the organisers have thrown in is where we will need to run for about 16 hours through the night to finish the required 80km stage. We also have to carry all our own food, sleeping bags, water, torches, compasses, cooking utensils etc throughout the race. I thought it would be a good opportunity to raise funds for the Hong Kong Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals (where my dogs came from), especially as my company Macquarie will match whatever funds I raise up to 25K AUD. Thanks in advance for any donations Paul Finished! thanks for all your donations!
