On 7 Juiy, we will attempt to climb the height of Mt. Everest in 20h by cycling up/down a virtual hill in a continuous relay to raise money for The Society for the Relief of Disabled Children. Please help support this great cause.

My Story

On Saturday 7th 2018, we are attempting to climb the height of Mt. Everest (8,848m or more! ) in a continuous virtual cycling relay on Zwift (www.zwift.com) for the Society for the Relief of Disabled Children. Please give generously!.

What’s Everesting? The concept of Everesting is simple: pick any hill, anywhere in the world and bicycle repeats of it in a single activity until you climb 8,848m – the equivalent height of Mt Everest. A virtual Everesting is the same thing but the bicycle is placed on a stationary trainer where the resistance of the bike increases/decreases to simulate the climb/descent of a hill, giving you a simulated ‘road ride’ experience.

How does it work? We are going to attempt to complete this virtual Everesting in 20 hours on 7th July in a continuous relay alongside a number of other teams. We will do this in the virtual cycling world of ZWIFT which allows all teams to ride at the same time on the same virtual mountain. To complete the challenge we will need to climb a total of 8.8km vertically as a team! This is the equivalent of cycling up and down Vicotoria Peak more than 20 times!

Who are we? The Eversheds Sutherland team comprises: Michelle Hankey, Charlie Markillie, Clive Lam, Nikki Ching, Joanne Finch, Jason Tam, Dennis Ng, Stephen Mok , Christina Wang and Norman Hui.

Where are we doing it? Crossfit Asphodel generously lets us use their facility for the whole day.  They are an awesome team of expert coaches actually the only official Reebok affiliated gym in town so check out their fantastic training facilities in Kennedy Town. http://crossfitasphodel.com/
