Taking on #RunWithFriends 2019

Suzie Taylor is a team member of Who Run The World? Girls!, and is participating in #RunWithFriends 2019
and are fundraising for Friends-International

I am running (/crawling) at the Angkor Wat Half Marathon and the Bangkok Marathon for Friends-International!

My Story

I am buying my first ever pair of running shoes to run the10km at the Angkor Wat Half Marathon in Cambodia and the Bangkok Marathon in Thailand. So, I am challenging myself to run in 34(+) degrees heat and ridiculous humidity to raise money for Friends International. 

Friends International work with children, youth and families across Southeast Asia. They help to reintegrate children back into education and provide young adults with amazing training to support them in gaining the confidence to kickstart their careers and adult life. Whilst working for Friends I have been fortunate enough to see first hand the incredible work they are doing! 

Any support that you can offer is very much appreciated and will make my first "proper" run worth every step!! By giving a little, you are definitely going to help a lot in protecting some of the most vulnerable children in Southeast Asia. 

Here's a little more on the work that Friends do and the impact that you can have! 

Friends supports marginalised children, youth and their families to have better chances at life and to access newfound opportunities. Many of the people we work with live in exceedingly poor conditions with little to no access to basic services such as, education, housing and health care. This is where Friends steps in, taking a holistic approach to supporting the whole community that surrounds a vulnerable child. Empowering, educating, and supporting communities helps to ensure long term impact and change for the better. Your donation will help to make this a reality for many more children, families, and their communities. 

What your donation can do:
- $5: a backpack for a child to go to school
- $25: a school kit for a child
- $50: job-readiness training for 40 young people
- $120: healthcare for a student for a year
- $250: all material and support for a mother to start her own micro-enterprise to feed her family

You can help to make a difference to children's lives, with you by their side, they can look forward to a brighter future filled with opportunity and stability.
