We have been in rural community development capacity building and values based solar energy enterprise for 27 years working primarily with rural smallholders and women led rural smallholder households and medium scale agribusinesses (mainly rural) providing training, capacity building and supplying quality solar pumps for agriculture, which mostly for the rural smalloholders and women led families are a source of reducing physical labour, child labour, increasing yield as well as providing lights in the home so that children can study. We are also engaged currently by IFAD of the UN to manage a rollout grant targeting smart climate and scaling up of renewable energy technologies in Cambodia. Our focus with the funding is to help the most vulnerable smallholders to change to the solar pumps because they want the solar pumps but the local microfinance interest rates are too high and this is stopping the rural smallholders from adopting clean energy and it is also keeping their costs high because of using diesel/fuel powered machines and also the time spent on physical labour is too much and the labour is too much; we partner with the rural smallholders to mitigate the effects of climate change through adoption of solar, increase their access to markets for stable prices through our value chain links and increase living incomes for social empowerment , sustainability and a better of quality of life with the very necessary environmental sustainability.
