Shell-ebrate my birthday by saving a turtle! Make my birthday wish come true!
My Story
*Update (16 April 2020): When I started the fundraiser, RM1,000 seemed like a big number. I cannot believe we managed to reach the initial target within a day. THANK YOU all for your support! I have decided to revise my target to RM2,000.
Background
My 28th birthday is coming soon and I’ve been taking some time to reflect on how blessed I am — I have a roof over my head, a stable job, a loving family and a bunch of caring friends.
I often get asked what I would like for my birthday and honestly, I don’t have a good answer to that question. Fortunately, I have access to most needs and I am grateful for that.
So instead of buying me gifts or treating me to a meal for my birthday this year, please help support a cause I’m passionate about — protecting our endangered sea turtles. The goal is to raise a minimum of RM 1,000* to support the Perhentian Turtle Project!

Fuze Ecoteer Outdoor Adventures is an accredited social enterprise that focuses on conservation projects. Fuze Ecoteer currently runs the Perhentian Turtle Project which aims to conserve the sea turtle population of the Perhentian Island Marine Parks. This is done by monitoring them via photo ID, as well as increasing awareness and engagement of turtle conservation among the Perhentian Community.In the past, the project has been funded through educational trips, voluntourism, and corporate volunteering. However, with the ongoing pandemic and the closure of state borders, these sources of funding are cut off. The project has exhausted most of their savings to stay afloat. They are calling out for donations to continue funding for their cause!
Challenges
To make this fundraiser equally interesting for you, I’ve added some stretch goals above and beyond my initial target of RM1,000 -
- RM2,000: I will personally donate an additional RM1,000 to this cause.
- RM3,000: I will dress up as ninja turtle and post a reel on my Instagram profile
- RM20+: I will send you a personalized thank you card.
- RM100+: Cake or coffee on me!
- RM300+: You get to shave my head bald (or however you want to cut my hair)
