and is fundraising for Singapore Cancer Society

In Singapore, about 37 people are diagnosed with cancer every day and it is our country's TOP KILLER. FIGHT AGAINST CANCER NOW!

My Story

In 2014, my mum was diagnosed with Stage 3 Nose Cancer. Having gone through multiple rounds of radiotherapy, immunotherapy and chemotherapy, she has put up a strong fight against the disease. She eventually passed on in January 2018, but her indomitable spirit never dies! Me having been in the role of a caregiver, I understand and have seen through the painful and tiring experience of chemotherapy sessions and I know the queing and waiting is terrible. Here's the facts:
  • There are more patients each day, and that number is growing.
  • There are limited number of nurses at each station.
  • There are limited number of beds/machines/chairs.
  • There are overwhelmingly a lot of drugs needed.

Do you know a large part of the time spent in hospital is because of the waiting. Each session lasts for a couple of hours but due to resource constraints it could easily take up a full day! 
Many of these patients needs to do chemo at least once a week, some 3 times and more!
Worse still, in each visit patients have to face dozens of times of needle poking and blood taking.
Of course, I have not even mentioned the side effects of the treatment eg. hair loss, weight loss, appetite loss etc. 

So Support me as once again, I will be running the Sundown Marathon to raise funds to alleviate this issue, or support them as they fight against cancer. Sleep can wait. But they cannot afford to wait!
