I am very excited to be doing my very first individual fundraiser - running the 10k Angkor Wat Marathon-  for an organization I believe in. Friends International (FI) works with children, youth and their families to become functional, productive members of their society by saving lives and building futures.

Being a part of FI has inspired me to try and personally raise money for the organization. Key reason is that we directly protect children from all types of violence and work directly with the most marginalized groups to prevent family separation and ensure they have access to services, including safe employment, that enable them to thrive. Seeing the impact daily and knowing for certain that money is not lost in bureaucracy and administration but really goes to saving and changing lives, is why I am confident to reach out and ask you to donate for the cause. 

Examples of what your money will do:

- $5: a backpack for a child to go to school
- $25: full school kit for a child
- $50: job-readiness training for 40 young people
- $120: healthcare for a student for a year
- $250: all material and support for a mother to start her own micro-enterprise to feed her family
