FUNDRAISING TO PROTECT BINTAN'S COASTAL WATERS is fundraising for Yayasan Ecology Kepulauan Riau

Making a difference by supporting the protection of Bintan's coastal waters

My Story

After a successful fundraiser earlier in the year, I have had ongoing interest to support the cause and so am keeping this fundraiser open.

I am raising for YEKR which is protecting the east coast of Bintan by rehabilitating forests and mangroves and establishing no-fish zones in collaboration with the local communities. Fishing communities benefit by allowing fish stocks to rejuvenate and the upside for us tourists is the regrowth of the coral reefs and other marine life in these areas.  

The project will become self-sustaining with longer term funding once fully established, but for the time being some help is needed to complete the next set of biological and social surveys as well as defining the prjects's regulations and zoning.
