We are trying to make a difference by raising money to beat malnutrition together with Save the Children Philippines. Please support us by donating and helping us raise awareness for this project!

My Story

Our mission:

To fundraise for ‘Save the Children Philippines’ through ‘Project’ Pag-Asa’. The term ‘pag-asa’ means hope in Filipino. The objective of this project is to help free children from malnutrition. The current pandemic has greatly impacted the world most especially areas suffering from poverty. One huge effect of poverty is the problem of hunger, children of less fortunate areas are not getting enough food and nutrients and in turn is causing them to have health problems, suffer academically and have stunted growth. Because of this issue, we strive to support the future generation by helping them with their nutritional needs, work with parents to sustain their childrens’ growth, and jumpstart their health journey by providing meals and resources to fight malnutrition. Let us help children suffering from malnutrition and give them hope for a successful future.

Our Goal:

We aim to raise PHP350,650 for this project. The funds raised for this project will be allocated to:

  • Help 700 children gain access to nutritional assessments. This also provides their parents with training to support them like a BMI calculator, MUAC tape, and child length mats.

  • Provide 134 kids with 4 months worth of nutritious food. This also involves the nutritional assessments and the parent training listed above.

Why?

Malnutrition is a massive problem for children, who are our hope for the future. Suffering from hunger does not only greatly affect their health, learning but it can also stunt their growth. This program does not only aim to assist children for the short-term but also aid in avoiding health problems that can have far longer repercussions. Helping the next generation should be our priority to ensure a bright future for all of us. To put it into perspective, here are some numbers that we would help to change:

  •  9  The Philippines ranks 9th in the world when it comes to malnutrition, and the pandemic has only made this worse.

  • 20    The country’s hunger rate is 20.9%.

  • 30    One in three children (30%) below 5 years old are stunted for their age. And this can be reversible after two years, unless untreated.

How:

For this project, to raise funds we are planning to do both a virtual and physical benefit concert.

  • If you are near London, please join us on our physical event that is going to happen on the 24th September 2021. While being serenaded with our Philippine artists, we would provide some Filipino snacks and drinks for your enjoyment. Please contact us on [email protected] for ticket information

  • Our Virtual Concert will be happening in Kumu on the 28th August 2021. It is a free event that will be held in the Kumu App! More information to follow.

We would have three main sources of funds for this fundraiser. All profits from our physical events would be donated to our cause. There would also be donations in the virtual Concert on Kumu that we would convert to cash, with all of it going to our cause. Lastly, all donations from this page are going directly to ‘Save The Children Philippines’! Please help us raise awareness and funds for a good cause. #HopeForTheirFuture

Pinoys After Greatness (PAG) and the whole team of Project Pag-Asa thank you in advance for taking part in this project and we greatly appreciate any help and support in this project.
