The Island Foundation is an International Charitable Organisation, registered in Singapore. We run an education programme in collaboration with local people in the coastal communities of the Riau Archipelago in Indonesia. Our aim is to create lasting change by educating the next generation to create resilient, resourcefulproblem-solvers, equipped with skills for better prospects in life. Our activities include teacher training, running learning centres, developing a bilingual curriculum and organising community activities. As a result, we see young students developing through creativity and innovation, critical thinking, language, confidence and engagement. We believe these skills will open up new opportunities for them and their communities.
