“Rakyat Cares”
An initiative for the people
by the people
Hello! We are a group of
Student Ambassadors from the Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) from
International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia.
Did you know: In a group of 5
friends, chances are 1 person would have diabetes. Do you know how much effort
it takes to manage it? Not many people do.
Here, we want to raise
awareness on chronic disease management. With the ongoing pandemic, some may lose
their income and miss out on medication. Some may avoid clinic visits fearing COVID-19 infection.
The result? Poorly managed chronic diseases in a post-COVID-19 world.
Through our webinar planned
for these patients and caregivers, we hope to empower them in taking charge of
their health, in living life to the fullest.
As we live our lives, we have
people that we care for and people that care. For those who don't, chronic
disease adds salt to the wound.
We hope you will join our
“Rakyat Cares” campaign in showing support for diabetic senior citizens in
elderly homes.
All proceeds will go to the
“Diabetes Education for Elderly Residents” project by IMU Cares, to ensure the
elderly have access to resources needed during this pandemic.
If you are keen to learn more
about diabetes, here's an infographic on the cost breakdown for diabetes
management.
Thank you for sharing some
care and warmth for the less fortunate!
