Pertubuhan Perpustakaan Komuniti Batu Ferringhi

The Batu Ferringhi Community Library is to be a safe heaven for kids and adults. Through this establishment we hope to reach out to the B40 group, the stateless, the senior citizens, the marginalised members of the society in Batu Ferringghi.

Education is the key for growth but education can at times be expensive especially when it comes to getting the materials like books. For those who live in Batu Ferringhi, the closest access one has to a public library approximately takes 30 minutes, right from one end to the other end of the island. Many of them from here are unable to get there.

We want to make this library for everyone, not only for kids but a space for anyone who is interested to read and grow, they are most welcome to come here use this space. Our idea beyond establishing a library is certainly also to organise workshops on soft skills, public speaking, robotics etc as well as start a human library which is not something common in Malaysia. We want people from the community to come and showcase their talent here by displaying their art, crafts and so on. We want to make this place for the community, by the community.
