At LOVE, NILS, we provide support to children with cancer and their caregivers with much-needed healthcare guidance, emotional care, plus social and community support that will enable them to thrive.
Where do you even begin?
Parents seeking treatment for their child have to find their way through complex, often puzzling healthcare systems. Both parent and child face immense challenges to their well-being, such as anxiety, isolation and depression. To stand a better fighting chance, families need guidance, emotional care, a strong community and other forms of support that some hospitals may not be able to provide fully.
Holistic support with a difference.
LOVE, NILS provides families with knowledge, resources and community support at every step of the way. We're the only non-profit in Singapore that raises funds to pay for Care Coordinators who guide patients and caregivers to receive the help they need.
We believe it takes a village to heal a child. And that's why we hold regular toy drives, events, school programs and hospital visits involving many dedicated individuals, to keep children and caregivers socially engaged, hopeful and resilient. This way, they know they're not alone in the fight.
We raise funds to provide Care Coordinators to help guide patients and caregivers through the healthcare system. They work to overcome obstacles in the way of the patient getting necessary care and treatment. They provide emotional and community support through integrative therapies, housing and non-insured needs.
Open Art Sessions
Delivered by the LOVE, NILS licensed art therapists; these art sessions are a regular weekly feature on the LOVE, NILS calendar at both NUH and KKH hospitals.
Toy Drives and Annual Toy Market
We help with the experience of a toy store to the children in hospital so they can escape their daily treatment, even if only for a brief moment.
Calendar of Hope
We provide free monthly tickets to musical concerts, plays and events with VIP backstage visits for children with cancer at NUH and KKH hospitals.
We have built strong relationships with five local and international schools in Singapore. Our School Programs provide an opportunity for students to drive their initiatives. Our students created our Pen Pal Program, our T-shirt Masterpiece Program, donated handmade pillowcases, beanies, and welcome packages, and raise awareness with fundraising activities.
We work with individuals and organizations to provide VIP visits to the children's cancer wards from characters the children know and love. Our visitors provide hope and inspiration and encourage our kids to stay strong.
