In school across Nepal, the new academic session begins from Baishak (April/May) , but this year because of COVID-19, the school has been shut down from March 2020 to date.
We, the Anmol Jyoti Secondary English Boarding School, has run the online classes from May 2020 to make sure that none of our students are left behind in education. We try to connect with our students through social media(
www.facebook.com/AJSEBS1991/). However, lots of challenges we have been facing because of the lockdown and the pandemic caused by the Corona Virus.
-We have with us 31 teaching and non-teaching staff and because of our institution’s salary, their family survives with their daily bread. So, since it’s been already 5 months (April till now) and running we have not been able to pay our school staff on a regular basis.
-We have a total of 420 students with 20% of students who fall in scholarship criteria. Most of our payable parents also cannot afford to pay school fees because all their jobs and business has been shut down till date.
-So, the school admin is facing challenges financially to pay the school and hostel rent and monthly salary to our staff, which is causing difficulty to all their families.
As our school is a private organization we do not get any financial support from the government so, that is why we are seeking alternative support.

Staff salary: US$170 per staff x 31 staffs x 6 months= US$31620
School and Hostel Rent: US$1600x 6months=US$9600
