I saw an orange cat seemingly looking for food at the corner of the street where I live. I went home to get some cat food and went back to the corner street to give it something to eat. But upon closer look, I saw its right eyeball had popped out of the socket and blood was constantly dripping from its mouth. The cat seemed to be in great pain and disoriented as it did not appear to want to run away from the noise and chaos from the crowd in Binondo anymore (it is nearing the Lunar New Year celebrations so it is even busier than usual).

I gave it some dry food and it attempted to eat but it couldn't. I gave it some wet food instead and it started to lick the food, so I thought it still has a will to live but surely it will not survive on its own due to all the injuries it sustained.

I went back home to get a pet carrier and brought the cat the to nearest vet clinic. The x-rays showed is currently suffering from severe broken jaw, broken leg, and hernia from the intestine being pushed out.  The vet said it will need pain killers and to be put on drip first (as it is also severely dehydrated).

The pain must be unimaginable. Being a stray cat is already exhausting enough and this cat is just trying to live one day at a time without hurting or bothering anyone.  I cannot fathom how people can hit and injure a living creature and just run off without any guilt.

His condition needs to be stabilized before more tests can be done on him. Since I found him outside a store that sells chinese good luck charms, I named him Charo for now. I sincerely hope that some of the good luck from the store will help his survival rate.
