Hi Everyone!
My name is Claire Burley and I learnt to row 5 years ago whilst at university in the UK.
In those 5 years I have proven myself to be a very passionate, and driven rower, going from a complete novice in 2016, to winning a university championship medal in 2019, and finally becoming an Asian Games hopeful with the Hong Kong National Rowing team in 2021.
I recently also became a world record holder, holding the current fastest time for lightweight women aged 19-29 on the indoor rower with slides.
I have now decided to set my focus onto my next challenge which will be this years Around The Island Race (ATIR) which will be held on Sunday the 21st of November 2021.
The Around The Island Race is a 45k race around Hong Kong island. I will be taking on this challenge rowing in a coastal single battling the unpredictable coastal conditions of Hong Kong island.
