IAPWA (Independent Aid for Protection Welfare of Animals) Penang is a local based non-governmental organisation that work together with local authorities to to provide veterinary care and support to the suffering animals in our island. In Aug 2017, it signed a MOU with MBPP to adopt 'Trap, Neuter and Release' a more humane long term solution to control the strays in the communities. This programme will catch, handle and provide temporary shelter whilst possible at time put the animals up for adoption. They also champion the practice of adopting pet in addition to providing deworming programme and rabies prevention vaccinations for these poor souls.
