My Story

Hi!, I am Nina,18 yrs. old. Last December 2013, I was diagnosed with ALL (ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA) and my Pedia-Onco Hematologist suggested that I should undergo chemotherapy. I have undergone treatment for 4 years and within those years, I've experienced more difficulties and challenges. During the first month of my chemotherapy, I had a compression at my lower back in the spine from Thoracic to Lumbar level which caused me great pain. It turns out that I had OSTEOPAENIA. I was prescribed to wear body braces for 6 months. Not months after, around March 2014, I experienced STROKE. I wasn't able to move my left side. My doctor referred me to a neurologist and I was diagnosed with LACUNAR INFARCT, which, fortunately, I recovered quickly and had me undergo physical therapy and take steroids to help with the inflammation.Around 2015, I undergo RADIOTHERAPY. That was suggested by my doctor to make sure that no cancer cells to be found within my spine and brain. Chemotherapy is ongoing. IV and Oral chemotherapy, alternately taken per month as part of my maintenance and due to the treatments, I survive the chemotherapy for four years. Unfortunately, backpain and difficulty in walking have been experiencing, the Rehab Medicine doctor prescribed me to undergo MRI to know the problem, sadly the result was not good I feel devastated again it was AVASCULAR NECROSIS BOTH HIP JOINTS (FICAT AND ARLET STAGE III TO IV, BILATERAL) both of my hip joints was damaged. The Orthopaedic-Oncologist recommend to have a TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENT. He told us that it is not a simple fracture and surgery is needed to avoid my hips to collapse. Both hips should be replaced with an implant prostheses but due to lack of funding and the probability of my body's survival from losing a lot of blood during the surgery, the surgeon only replaced one hip particularly, the most damaged ones, the right hip. The procedure was done recently last May 2018. I undergone physical therapy days after the surgery and I am currently using a straight cane to support my left hip. I am raising this campaign to help me earn for the next part of my operation which is to replace my left hip--which starts to ache as I recover from my first surgery. I hope you could help me raise funds and I am thank you in advance for your kind hearts. The proceeds of this campaign will go to the implant prostheses, hospital bills, other medical fees and for my physical therapy.

May your kind and pure hearts be blessed by The Almighty God and a big hug and thanks from me. I appreciate it a lot in helping me raise funds.
